한국종교사회학회 등재학술지 <종교와 사회 (Asian Journal of Religion and Society)>14-2호 논문모집 (~5/20)

Call for Papers:

Asian Journal of Religion and Society (AJRS)

You are invited to submit a manuscript for possible inclusion in the Asian Journal of Religion and Society issued by the Korean Association for the Sociology of Religion (KASR). The Asian Journal of Religion and Society is a Korea Citation Index (KCI) Journal. This journal aims to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to present new research and developments in the area of the Sociology of Religion. Areas of interest for this journal issue include but are not limited to, the following topics: the relationship between religion and social structure, the public role of religion in modern society, religious movements and social change, religion and everyday life, globalization and religious pluralism, religion and gender, etc.

The special theme for this issue is “Religion, Body, and Modernity in Korea.” This special issue invites submissions that explore how religion has shaped understandings of the body, gender, and morality in modern Korean society, as well as how these norms have been experienced and reinterpreted in lived contexts. We also welcome papers on other related topics in the sociology of religion.

The papers will be published in the 2026 summer issue of the Asian Journal of Religion and Society, and on the KASR website. This issue is scheduled to be published on July 20, 2026. In addition, authors of accepted papers may be invited to present their work at upcoming conferences held by the Korean Association for the Sociology of Religion. Both KASR members and non-members are invited to submit manuscripts.

Deadline for Submissions

Timely submission of the manuscripts is critical to the success of the publication. The procedures and timetable enumerated below will apply.

Authors are required to submit their papers by May 20, 2026. The manuscript should include the following: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, References. For additional submission details and formatting guidelines, please refer to the KASR website (https://kasr.kr/homepage/custom/ifa). In addition to the manuscript, authors must submit a cover letter using the official template available on the KASR website. The cover letter should also be submitted via the KASR submission system.

Notification of Results

According to ‘Article 6 (Decision/Notification)’ of the Regulations for Review of the AJRS (http://www.kasr.kr/), decision results will be notified in the following terms. Following are the meaning of the terms.

Acceptance Criteria

Manuscripts will be sorted by the following criteria.

1. Originality of ideas

2. Clarity of presentation

3. Thorough review of literature

Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts must follow the guidelines in the Journal Format of the AJRS on the KASR website. Additional guidance concerning the Editorial Board, and Research Ethics is also available on the KASR website.

1. <종교와 사회 (Asian Journal of Religion and Society)>는 한국연구재단 등재지입니다.

2. 2026년 7월 20일 발행될 <종교와 사회 (Asian Journal of Religion and Society)> 14-2호의 투고 마감일은 2026년 5월 20일입니다. 이번호의 특집 주제는 “한국의 몸, 종교, 근대성: 신앙, 젠더, ‘이상적 몸’의 교차점”입니다. 본 특집호에서는 종교가 근대 한국 사회에서 인간 신체, 젠더, 도덕 등에 관한 규범과 이상을 어떻게 형성하고 변화시켜 왔는지를 살펴보는 연구를 모집합니다. 또한, 개인들이 이러한 종교적, 사회문화적 규범을 일상 속에서 어떻게 수용하고 재해석해 왔는지를 조명하는 연구도 기대합니다. 이외의 일반 주제 논문도 환영합니다.

4. <종교와 사회 (Asian Journal of Religion and Society)> 13-2호부터 서평란이 마련되었습니다. 서평 원고 분량은 A4 3~5매 (한국어. 영어 1,000~2,000자) 기준입니다. 서평 원고의 경우, 소정의 심사비가 지급됩니다.

5. <종교와 사회 (Asian Journal of Religion and Society)> 의 심사료와 게재료는 다음과 같습니다.

1) 심사료: 4만원 (재심사가 진행될 경우 심사료 추가납부)

2) 게재료: 비전임 없음, 전임 10만원, 연구비 지원논문 50만원

3) 연회비: 전임 5만원, 비전임 3만원, 대학원생 2만원 (논문 게재 확정 이후 납부. 평생회원은 면제)
